Hey everyone,
By the suggestion of many people I am going to be blogging along my journey as much as I can. To keep everyone updated on how I am doing and what all is going down. I'm not sure how this whole blog thing works, but it doesn't look all that hard. I'm going to be limited to what all I write on here, but I will try to let you all know as much as I can! :)
Those who are following or will be should know why I am going, I leave the 25th of June. 11days from today! I am very excited to see the Smiths and just finally be there. I have alot of packing I still need to do, but not to worried. I have my brothers wedding this Sunday thats going to be a good time to say good bye to most of my family! A bitter but mostly sweet day!
Well, I think that is all I have to say for now, thank you all for your prayers and encouragement even if its not direct to me. I am at ease about all of this :)

I get to be first to comment.
ReplyDeleteMany blessings as you head out. We are anticipating that God will use you mightily and teach you many things. We love you.
Hilary, I'm so excited you are going to be in Africa at the same time as me!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe night before I left I was still packing. I didn't sleep much (3 hours).
Feel free to cry it out when you say good bye. You will need to be strong when you arrive, unless you are hiding in your room, that's where do all my crying.
So we (my american friends here) have a phrase that i'm sure you will understand and appreciate after a few weeks of being here, "Blog it out". It's so amazing to write down what you are thinking and feeling, even if you have to censor it before you post it. (censoring because you want to be culturally sensitive).
So girl Blog it out!!!!
And feel free to send me any questions or frustrations you have, I'm just 5 months ahead of you on this journey but I might be able to help in some way.
Love you and God will bless you beyond belief.
Remember it's not as scary as you think it will be. It's just life in another city, the people around you just speak a different language and do things that are different sometimes that confuse you. But you will make amazing friends just like I have.
Blessings
